People want employment and bread, not reinstatement of judges: PML-Q chief
Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid) President, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, has said that the reinstatement of the judges and the judiciary is not the demand of the people.
Instead, their demand was centred on employment and bread, he added.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the inaugural ceremony of a new block of the PML House here, Hussain said that a two-third majority is required for giving Constitutional status to the emergency and PCO, which the PML-Q would be able to get after winning the next month’s election.
Replying to a question regarding Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto, he said President Pervez Musharraf had consulted the PML-Q on Sharif’s return, and added that his homecoming would not make any difference to the prevailing political situation in the country.
Hussain said that Sharif came here on the assurance that he would participate in the elections. His coming to Pakistan after seven years has shown him how thw situation has changed. Sharif’s votebank also has dwindled, Hussain added.
He said that if Sharif had stayed out of the country, he could have got more votes.
As far as Benazir was concerned, her staying out of the country would have blemished Pakistan’s image, he said. (ANI)
