With 20 days to go general elections, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued compact discs (CDs) containing the computerized voter lists.

A CD profiling any constituency can be bought for Rs.200.

Talking to Geo News, the Commission's Secretary, Kanwar Dilshad Ahmed, said the CDs contain the names of 81 million voters for 272 constituencies of National Assembly.

He confirmed that political parties have started acquiring the CDs.

Referring to the training of electoral staff, Dilshad said the second phase of the process would be completed by the end of this month; and added that  550,000 election workers would be trained in this phase.

Dilshad said the printing of ballot papers is in progress and would be completed in the first week of January.

Returning Officers would hand over the ballot papers and other election accessories to polling staff on January 7.

The Election Commission has deleted the names of 3.7 million "bogus" voters from the final list, he said. (ANI)
