Nawaz calls for closure of ISI’s political wing
“No democratic person could welcome an army coup, the ISI might have been involved in the distribution of sweets upon the dismissal of his government in 1999. The country’s premier was answerable to the people and not to the army chief,” the Daily Times quoted Nawaz as saying.
He said the wars fought by Pakistan erupted during military rules, whereas democratic governments had ensured the development of the country. (ANI)
