‘Debaucherism’ - the latest ‘in-thing’ for modern travellers
Young holidaymakers nowadays have a new mantra for themselves-‘work hard, play harder.’ And as a result, they are increasingly using holidays for out-of-control partying with a trend called ‘debaucherism’.
The World Travel Market's annual Global Trends report has found that in North America, young travellers were following the celebrity trend of engaging in heavy drinking and non-stop partying during vacations.
According to the report, travellers aged 25-34 years were getting married late and were working longer hours due which they have a mentality of going the wild way after completing university.
Las Vegas holds the sway of being the capital of debaucherism with its casino and nightlife, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.
The report stated that the tour companies were cashing in on the trend, offering strip-club tours, which includes limousine transportation and entrance to the clubs, while hotels have introduced all-day pool parties that cost up to 5000 US dollars per day.
In the Caribbean, resorts have focused on eroticism and ‘anything goes’ attitude to lure debaucherists to the islands.
The report said that some young holidaymakers were going further, renting private jets and yachts, at thousands of dollars per hour, to host their own wild parties. (ANI)
