Brad Pitt and partner Angelina Jolie are husband and wife – if actress Taraji Henson’s slip of tongue is to be believed.

It so happened that while talking to Hollyscoop, Taraji Henson– who appeared alongside Brad in The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button – revealed that she had offered her babysitting tips to Angelina and referred to Pitt as her ‘husband’.

After correcting herself, she once again referred to Pitt as Angelina’s husband, reports The Sun.

Looking back, Jack Black broke the news that Angelina was expecting twins at last year’s Cannes Film Festival.

And much to everybody’s amazement that slip of the tongue came true. (ANI)

James Bond star Daniel Craig and actor Live Schreiber had a rather ‘tipsy’ formula to beat the shivers while shooting new war movie ‘Defiance’ in Lithuania— hardcore vodka.

In a bid to stay warm in the chilling weather, the two actors heavily drank Lithuanian vodka to keep the cold at bay.

"Our secret for staying warm was vodka. We had lots of good Lithuanian vodka,” Contactmusic quoted Schreiber as telling Parade.com.

He added: “It was very good, so good that we drank a lot of it. I mean we were in the woods and it was freezing.

"You didn''t have to pretend you were cold because we were all shivering." (ANI)

Lindsay Lohan says she works as hard as Scarlett Johansson, but is still not taken seriously by directors due to her bad reputation.

The ‘Mean Girls’ star has said that she doesn''t win as many film roles as the ‘Lost In Translation’ star because the last few turbulent years of her life has ruined her image as a serious actress.

The 22-year-old star has been arrested for drink driving and spent time in rehab, which has been keeping her in constant media spotlight for all the wrong reasons and now she’s adamant to shed her party girl image.

And Lindsay is determined to prove that she is as hard working and deserving of as many acting roles as the other actresses of her generation.

"It''s so impossible for me to actually do that (escape the media attention). When I was in Dubai, there was still press lined up around the hotel. So I find it close to impossible to actually do that,” The Daily Express quoted Lohan as telling Interview magazine.

She added: "This is what I asked for, and in this day and age that''s what actually goes on. But what hurts me the most is that I work just as hard as any other actress around my age, like Scarlett Johansson, but I just don''t get the opportunities that they get because people are so distracted by the mess that I created in my life. Supermodel Gisele Bundchen and her footballer beau Tom Brady are not engaged, it has emerged.

According to a source close to the couple, nothing has been made official.

And the supermodel might have to wait a little longer to receive her ring.

"But there is nothing stopping them from getting engaged. It could happen any day," Fox News quoted the source as saying.

It was recently reported that the American footballer had proposed to Budchen on a private jet, decorated with white roses and champagne especially for her.

Devotees converge to celebrate ''Vaikuntha Ekadashi festival in Tamil Nadu

A large number of people converged from different parts of the country at the Ranganatha shrine in Srirangam, Tamil Nadu, to celebrate the Vaikuntha Ekadashi festival on Wednesday.

Devotees thronged the temple premises to offer obeisance to Lord Vishnu, who is known as Lord Ranganatha in the local parlance here.

Vaishnavism (the worship of Lord Vishnu) culture holds the belief that Vaikunth Dwaram, the gate to Lord''s innner sanctum open on this day.

Legend has it that the Lord opened the gate of Vaikuntam (His abode) for two demons in spite of them being against the Him.

At Sri Ranganathaswami temple, Lord Vishnu as Lord Ranganatha is adorned is an armour of diamonds (rathnaangi) and is brought to the thousand-Pillared Hall from the sanctum sanctorum through the northern gate known as Paramapada Vasal, the gate to the heaven. This gate is opened once in a year, only on the Vaikuntha Ekadashi day.

Devotees of Lord Ranganatha throng the temple during Ekadashi festival as it marks the only occasion when the idol of the God bedecked in diamonds is taken out of the sanctum sanctorum to be placed at Thirumamani Mandapam (thousand pillared hall).

"The Vaikuntha Ekadesi festival is celebrated for 20 days and the Tamil ..are sung by the Arayar in special dance format in all these 20 days. People from all over the world come to visit this temple on this day and for their benefit we have also given direct relay, live relay in our website plus other organization has also made efforts to see that this festival is a grand success," said Kavita, the Joint Commissioner of Ranganatha shrine.

Arayar Natanam is a dance performed in the temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu in Tamil Nadu.

Pilgrims sing devotional songs and chant religious hymns throughout the day in Lord''s praise. It is believed that those who get audience with the Lord on this religious occasion, they find place in the His abode.

The hall of 1,000 pillars is the most splendid part of the Srirangam temple.Lord Ranganatha then presides over his divine court and is visited by a large number of devotees. (ANI)

Uttarayan brings people together in Gujarat

Uttarayan or Makar Sankranti is one of the biggest Hindu festivals celebrated in Gujarat. A large number of people here mark it as a kite festival, in which people from all communities participate.

These kites are chiefly made by members of the Muslim community. Ahead of the festival, there is usually high demand for kites that are made available in the in attractive hues and sizes in the markets.

Many Gujaratis believe that Uttarayan festival is not just about an occasion when people fly kites but it is a time which also promotes and strengthens harmony among Hindus and Muslims in communally sensitive State.

Thousands of Muslims in Gujarat are into the kite making business. Every one of them feels proud to be a part of such business. These days the kite makers as well as the kite flyers are busy preparing for the upcoming festival.

Jamalpur Kite market in Ahmedabad sets a good example of communal harmony. The Muslim-dominated market has been making a variety of kites for decades for kite flyers. .

Umar Bhai, a Muslim kite maker, has been into this business for over 35 years. He feels glad to be a part of the ''Uttarayan'' festival.

"Uttarayan is a festival of communal harmony. We feel proud that we make kites for our Hindu friends. Here, every kite maker is a Muslim and the buyers are Hindus. But this divide (on religious lines) has never affected the affection and love among us,” says Umar Bhai.

“This year the kite festival will help us forget recession and the Mumbai terror attacks. Nobody can create a divide between our two religions; we are like brothers. Hindu brothers come this side to purchase kites and we welcome them," Umar Bhai adds.

Meanwhile, the kite lovers have already started visiting the markets. The buyers are of the view that Muslim kite makers are skilful and innovative.

The traders say that demand for kites has gone down this year. Shopkeepers dealing in kites are hopeful that customers will soon come to buy kites for marking Uttarayan festival.

" Though there is recession in the market and terror attacks have ruined the festive atmosphere we still want people to be one and work together ‘said Mukhtaar Ahmed Sheikh, another kite maker.

During Uttarayan, the sky in Gujarat would be dotted with innumerable colourful kites of various shapes and sizes. The kite fliers throng the roof terraces and open spaces amidst loud music and festive fervour.

Uttarayana is the time when the Sun travels towards north on the celestial sphere. The starting of Uttarayan is celebrated as Makar Sankranti throughout India. (ANI)

Botham blames ECB czars for England cricket mess

Former England cricketer Ian Botham has said that in the last 24 hours, the incidents related to England cricket and its immediate future, are probably the most embarrassing that he has seen, both as a player and as a commentator on the sport.

In an article for the Sunday Mirror, Botham squarely blames the fiasco relating to the Pietersen-Moores disagreement on the "chinless wonders who rule Lord''s from behind a desk".

Accusing officials of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) of turning English cricket into "a laughing stock", Botham says: "The events of the last 24 hours have been embarrassing, woeful and shameful."

"It''s the buffoons in blazers who are now on to their third England captain in five months. Clandestine meetings of men in suits. Smoke and mirrors in a committee room while another England captain is sacrificed on the altar of cloak-and-dagger politics behind the scenes. It''s the faceless clowns who have had to sack an England coach who many people were surprised to see get the job in the first place," Botham adds.

While he feels sorry for Pietersen, Botham says his decision to quit "reflects dreadfully on the people who do the hiring and firing at Lord''s."

Pietersen he says did not leak the story about his strained working relationship with coach Peter Moores.

Botham says: "And, I know he did not actually resign until he released his statement shortly before 5.30 p.m. last night - by which time he realised there was no point in carrying on as captain.What was the point of him staying in a job if he was expected to take a bullet for something he didn''t say?

When the England and Wales Cricket Board appointed him as skipper back in August, they knew he wasn''t going to be a yes man, no man, three-bags-full man," says Botham in his article.

He laments the fact that a skipper with promise has been nipped in the bud, and adds that he too would not have been happy with the squad selected for the forthcoming Caribbean tour. (ANI)

Pietersen arrives back in the UK

Ex-England cricket captain Kevin Pietersen has arrived back home following a winter holiday in South Africa.

Greeted by photographers and reporters, Pietersen refused to make a comment on the current crisis in England cricket, and was escorted to a waiting car by police.

Pietersen quit as England skipper after only five months on Wednesday in the wake of his rift with coach Peter Moores - who was sacked.

Wednesday''s tumultuous events leave England in disarray ahead of the tour to the West Indies and the Ashes series against Australia this summer.

England leave for the Caribbean on January 21, and the England and Wales Cricket Board will now begin its search for a new coach.

Andrew Strauss has been named as captain for the tour of the West Indies, although it is not known whether he will also take charge of the one-day and Twenty20 teams.

The ECB have announced a news conference for 3 p.m. GMT at Lord''s, where Strauss and Hugh Morris, the ECB''s managing director, will address the media.

Pietersen, who admitted last week his relationship with Moores was strained, has stated his desire to remain involved in the England set-up.

And former skipper Michael Vaughan, whose potential return to the England team led to a clash between Pietersen and Moores, has backed Pietersen to put the controversy behind him.

"What Kevin has to do now is go to the West Indies and score a hundred in the first Test, then it will be forgotten," Vaughan .

Past skippers and players said that Pietersen got what he justily deserved after bringing his conflict with Moores into the public domain. (ANI)

Fallen football legend Paul Gascoigne a.k.a Gazza’s daughter Bianca was bombarded with supportive messages after the emotional documentary about her family and father called ‘Surviving Gazza’ was aired on television.

Bianca, who was disowned by Gazza, received many appreciative messages by fans and pals on her Facebook page.

"Hiya Bianca I just wanted to say that you and your family are amazing. Your mum is a rock and has a heart of gold... Hope everything turns out how you want it. Happy new year x," The Sun quoted one fan, Matt Slater, as stating.
