The Scotland Yard (SY) team of Britain that arrived in Pakistan today was briefed by the Interior Ministry about the development in the investigation carried out into the assassination of ex-premier Benazir Bhutto.

According to sources, Special Investigation Group of FIA Anti Terrorism apprised the SY team about the evidence gathered in connection with the slain Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Benazir.

After having detailed consultations with the Pakistan Government, the SY team would move ahead for a full-fledged probe into the incident, The News reported.

The issues relating to team’s contact with the eyewitnesses besides Benazir’s autopsy are yet to be finalised, it added.

Meanwhile, the PPP has expressed its "distrust on locally conducted investigation and have demanded probe into the murder of Benazir under United Nations’ appointed investigators." (ANI)
