George Clooney to reprise E.R. role?

George Clooney is all set to reprise his Dr. Doug Ross character for the finale of medical drama E.R., according to former castmate Noah Wyle.

In recent months, the actor made it clear that he will not return to the show, but pal Wyle insists there are secret plans to bring Clooney back to E.R., where he got his big break.

"From what I heard, George said, ''Absolutely, schedule permitting''," Contactmusic quoted Wyle, as saying.

Wyle revealed that Clooney won''t be the only former castmate coming back for episodes next year (09) - he''ll be starring in a storyline opposite Eriq La Salle.

However, Juliana Margulies, who portrayed nurse Carol Hathaway on the show, turned down an invitation to reprise her role for the final series of the medical drama, because she doesn''t think her character''s storyline can be improved. (ANI)

Julianne Margulies declines ER comeback offer

Former ‘ER’ actress Julianne Margulies has declined the opportunity to be in the final season of the hit American medical drama series.

The Emmy Award-winner, who went on to play Nurse Carol Hathaway for six years, had departed from the show eight years ago – despite the reported 27 million dollar offer to remain in the show.

Margulies, who has since appeared in ‘The Sopranos’, BBC mini-series ‘The Grid’ along with the 2006 film ‘Snakes on a Plane’, said she couldn’t have chosen a better time to exit the NBC medical drama.

"I feel like I left Carol in the best scenario possible. I can''t imagine making it any better than that, " BBC quoted her as saying.

The American star had won an Emmy nomination for every year that she was on the show, and the award itself for her first year''s performance. (ANI)

Prescription drug overdose may have caused Paula Abdul’s ''stalker''s death

Paula Abdul’s alleged stalker, who was found dead in her car near the singer’s home, may have died due to an overdose of prescription drugs, say reports.

The body of Paula Goodspeed, who had been an unsuccessful contestant on the 5^th season of ‘American Idol’, was discovered near the reality competition judge’s home in Sherman Oaks, California on November 11.

The police had earlier hinted that the ‘obsessed’ 30-year-old might have died from a drug overdose and as per recent reports on TMZ.com, “multiple prescription bottles” have been found on her body.

Godspeed had apparently been infatuated with Abdul after her audition for the show in January 2006 – the same time when she is said to have overdosed, reports Contactmusic.

Meanwhile, Abdul has dismissed rumours claiming that she had refused to return to her LA residence following the incident because she feared Goodspeed was “haunting her house”.

Her rep told the New York Post, "She''s been home since the incident happened. There''s no issue with spirits. Paula is shocked and saddened by what transpired. Her heart and prayers go out to the Goodspeed family.” (ANI)

Dame Helen Mirren finds working with her director hubby ‘tough’, because she gets upset whenever Taylor Hackford shouts at people onset.

Hackford has teamed up with his wife Helen for his upcoming flick ‘Love Ranch’ based on a Nevada brothel.

"Working with him, I have to say, wasn''t easy. My husband in work mode is not the easiest of people, although a lot of people adore working with him. But because I have the emotional connection with him, I would get upset if he was shouting, not at me, but at someone else, demanding something,” The Daily Express quoted Helen, as saying.

"I would find myself rushing around trying to clean up after him. There''s nothing I love more than going to my husband''s set and being his wife. But this, it mixes the roles up,” she added.

Helen revealed that being directed by a loved one made it a unique experience for her.

Madonna’s advice to Britney: ‘don’t marry again’

Madonna, who recently announced she’s divorcing Guy Ritchie, has reportedly advised Britney Spears never to marry again.

According to reports, the ‘Material Girl’ has told Britney, who divorced Kevin Federline in 2006, not to walk down the aisle again, reports China Daily.

Earlier this month, Britney joined the 50-year-old diva on stage at a performance as part of her ''Sticky and Sweet'' world tour.

"Britney asked Madonna if she will ever marry again after her split from Guy. Madonna not only said she wouldn''t but told Britney to forget about marriage. She said it just doesn''t work for girls like them,” a source close to Madonna told gossip website AbsoluteNow.com.

The source added: "Madonna clearly sees a lot of herself in Britney because she seems very eager to help her."

Madonna and Britney have been friends since they appeared together at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2003, where they infamously shared a kiss on stage.

The Victoria’s Secret show, which took place in Miami, caused quite a stir especially where its celeb audience was concerned.

At the show were two former BFFs, Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian, who after a fallout claimed that they had no hard feelings towards one another, but they were seen to have stayed as far away from one another during the fashion festivities.

And even though the girls were nowhere near to one another, extra measures were put in place to ensure the girls did not cross paths.

Following the episode was Kristin Cavallari, who also attended the show and after-party and was desperate to be in with the Kardashian clan.

According to a source, Cavallari spent most of her time following Kimmy K and insisted she be put at their table even after they walked right past her without saying a hello while on the after-party’s pink carpet.

Last but not the least, Miranda Kerr, who was spotted without Orlando Bloom, quickly denied reports of an engagement when she was quizzed about it.

Kerr was seen snuggling up to three other important people in her life, her parents and her younger brother.

But none of them managed to draw attention as much as Heidi Klum, who happens to be married, a mother-of-three and the eldest of the supermodels.

“Heidi gets the most attention without a doubt,” Fox News quoted a VS insider as confirming.

“The press all want her, the fans all want her. It is going to be hard for any other model to compete with that,” the insider added.

"I would like to say well done to Kerry Katona for admitting she has a problem with alcohol,” the Sun quoted Goody, as telling the magazine.

"I don’t think anyone should knock her for being brave enough to say such a difficult thing. I hope this is the first step towards sorting herself out.

Both had attended the Victoria''s Secret Fashion Show in Miami, and when Niarchos saw Hilton at the party he headed straight for her.

“Stavros looked thrilled to see Paris again and was spotted stroking her hair,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

“They then looked deep in conversation,” the source added.

Hilton, who dated Greek shipping heir Niarchos in 2006, is currently going around with Benji Madden of the Good Charlotte band.

Macca’s poem to Spike Milligan to go under hammer

A poem written by singing legend Sir Paul McCartney for his friend Spike Milligan is set to go under the hammer next week in London.

The handwritten poem will be auctioned by Bonhams on November 25 as part of a large sale of Milligan memorabilia.

On one side of the paper contains the poem written by the former Beatle titled ''The Poet of Dumbswoman Lane'' while on the reverse he drew a rough cartoon titled ''The Nutters of Starvecrow Lane''.

Written in blue pen, and addressed to Spike, Man, it reads: "The voice of the poet of Dumbwoman''s Lane/Can be heard across vallies [sic] of sugar-burned cane/And nostrils that sleep through the wildest of nights /Will be twitching to gain aromatic insights/The wife of the farmer of Poppinghole Lane/Can be seen from the cab of the Robertsbridge train/And passengers comments will frequently turn/To the wages the wife of a farmer can earn/The poet of Dumbwoman''s lane sallies forth/He is hoping for no-one to see," reports the Telegraph.

Sir Paul signed it endearingly "With love Paul (YESTERDAY''S MAN.)" Its cartoon features a man and woman wearing large smiles and scruffy haircuts, both giving a thumbs-up sign.

It is estimated to fetch 1,500 pounds to 2,000 pounds.

According to Milligan''s widow Shelagh, who is selling the collection, Sir Paul often used to drop into their house in Rye, East Sussex, for a cup of tea when he was visiting a recording studio in the town. (ANI)

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie paid an emotional tribute to her late mother during a press conference for her new film ‘Changeling’ – and said her mum inspired her to take on the lead role.

The stunner plays the role of ‘Christine Collins’ – a woman who''s left devastated by the disappearance of her young son in the Clint Eastwood-directed film.

And while at the press conference in London, Jolie recalled the passion and dedication of her own mother Marcheline Bertrand, who died of cancer in 2007.

Fighting back the tears, Jolie said, "She was very much Christine Collins. She was really sweet and was never angry - she couldn''t swear to save her life. But when it came to her kids, she was really fierce and so this is very much her, her story.”

"She was the woman I related to, who had that elegance and strength through just knowing what was right,” Contactmusic quoted her, as saying. (ANI)
