Kanye West calls for ban on paparazzi intrusion

Comparing his recent stint with snappers to Princess Diana’s life, rapper Kanye West has demanded a law to protect celebrities from the prying eyes of paparazzi.

In the early hours of Friday morning, police detained the ‘Gold Digger’ star after an alleged scuffle with a photographer outside the Tup Tup club in Newcastle, England.

While West was released without charge, he has now called for legal ban on taking photographs without permission.

"If you listen to my music, how could I deliver so many positive uplifting messages and be the monster that the media paints? Paparazzi give real photographers a bad name,” Contactmusic quoted him as writing on his official blog.

He added: "Let us not forget that the paps killed Princess Diana. When will there (be) a law be passed that simply enforces that someone has to ask to take a photograph of you? That would seem like common courtesy. Right now the paps are above the law and the people they shoot are below it."

Diana, Princess of Wales died in a car crash in Paris, France in 1997, after a chase with photographers. (ANI)

Kiefer Sutherland says prison stint may help him kick the butt

Kiefer Sutherland, who completed his 48-day- jail sentence on misdemeanour drunk driving charges, is glad to know that he is capable of giving up smoking – at least for forty eight days.

The 41-year-old, best known for his lead role of Jack Bauer on the television series ‘24’, revealed that some good did come out his jail term – he can now trust himself to overcome unhealthy habits.

"My drinking was not a daily thing, so it wasn''t an issue. And, oddly enough, neither was the smoking. I was very glad to know that I could quit. And one day soon I will." People magazine quoted him as telling ‘Men''s Vogue’ in its December/January issue.

However ‘The Sentinel’ actor, while describing his prison nightmare added that compromising on his privacy was amongst the hardest thing to deal with.

He said: "The lights never go out, 24/7. You can''t cover anything. You can''t even put your head under a blanket. All the cells have cameras in them.”(ANI)

Leonardo DiCaprio says ‘Titanic’ fame almost ruined him

Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio has admitted that he was too young and immature to cope with the fame he received after starring in ‘Titanic’.

The 34-year-old actor became a star overnight after landing the lead role in the 1997 film alongside Kate Winslet.

However, DiCaprio has admitted that he was not mature enough to handle the fame, which came along with the success of the film.

"Titanic began a period of rebellion for me. As soon as people give you enough compliments and you suddenly have more power than you''ve ever had in your entire life, it''s not that you become an arrogant p***k, or you become rude to people, but you get a false sense of your own importance,” the Daily Express quoted Leonardo, as saying.

The actor said that he was too young to actually understand the depth of the condition and digest, as to what was going on with him.

“You''re treading in dangerous territory when you begin thinking you''ve altered the course of history. It was like a runaway train. I didn''t understand what was happening to me,” Leonardo said. (ANI)

Simon Cowell, Terri Seymour open up about their split

Simon Cowell and his ex-girlfriend TV host Terri Seymour have finally opened up about their split.

Cowell agreed to appear alongside Terri in an American news show called ‘Extra’, which features her entertainment reports.

And their Cowell admitted that that it was actually him, who was dumped.

"Terri decided to dump me…You sent me a text,” Contactmusic quoted Cowell, as saying.

Meanwhile, Seymour said that they are still the best of friends and are constantly in touch.

"We had a great six years. We do speak more now on the phone all the time. It''s true,” Terri said.

Aussie singer Natalie Imbruglia was spotted snogging rapper will.i.am at Monroes nightclub.

According to the Daily Mail, the popstars stunned clubbers after they started kissing and groping in plain view of Sienna Miller, Jesse Metcalfe and Calum Best at Monroes nightclub at No 5 Cavendish Square.

"It was a very boozy night in one of the private VIP rooms. A few models and the stars got through a number of magnums of champagne and vodka,” the Daily Telegraph quoted a source, as saying.

"Natalie and Will were getting on really well, and there were some surprised looks when they started kissing.

"Sienna made her excuses and left fairly early, but the others stayed until 7am," the source added.

According to Herald Sun, the 33-year-old songstress has also been seen dining with British comedian David Walliams.

Imbruglia, who parted ways with husband Daniel Johns in January after five years of marriage, watched Walliams perform in the play No Man''s Land, before the pair enjoyed an intimate dinner for two at the Nobu restaurant in London and finished the night at trendy nightclub Movida.

Justin Timberlake is reportedly ready to nestle himself with girlfriend Jessica Biel after shelling out 5.5 million dollars for a posh New York apartment.

The six times Grammy Award-winner has allegedly purchased his love pad in the Big Apple’s exclusive TriBeCa district, reports the China Daily.

The 27-year-old is said to be eager on moving into the plush flat that boasts of having complete high ceilings, wall-to-ceiling windows and an open plan bedroom.

A source said: “Justin has finally closed on the deal. He is thrilled to be living in such a trendy area of New York and thinks it will make the perfect first property for him and Jessica. They will be moving in over the next week."

The singer-actor had been rumoured to pop the question to Jessica after he reportedly went down on his knees with a steep vintage ring while on their romantic holiday in Italy.

The leading man of the Brit rock band revealed the band’s crowning place would soon be taken once U2 and Green Day were set to return with their new albums in 2009.

The height difference between Reese Witherspoon and her co-star Vince Vaughn in the new festive film ‘Four Christmases’ was so much that he had to pick the actress up for dance sequences.

The Oscar winning actress has admitted that her love interest in the film was so tall for her that they had to get creative to solve height problems.

"He''s 6''5" and I''m 5''2". We had a really funny scene, I don''t know if it''s in the film any more, where he rolls over onto me. We were in bed and then at the very end he rolls over and goes to sleep, but he rolls over and lays on top of me. It was like a tree trunk had just landed on me. I kept going, ''Tim-berrrrr!'' It was really funny,” Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

She added: "I stood on a lot of boxes and they had to build ramps that were about the same size as where I should be. It was a challenge, especially the kissing scenes. It was hard to get up there to kiss him but we worked it out.

"And he had to pick me up for half the dancing. He''s actually holding me in the air so we can stay in the same frame. He''s a fantastic dancer. A very, very good dancer, which you''d probably figure from Swingers. They were teaching us dance moves. I just couldn''t keep up and he was like, ''Oh, it''s a one-two cha cha cha''." (ANI)

Angelina Jolie not ready to retire yet

Angelina Jolie has backed out from her decision to quit acting, insisting she''s not ready to retire yet.

Recently, the actress said that she wants to quit films so she could spend more time with her six children and partner Brad Pitt.

While hinting her retirement was imminent, she said, "I don''t plan to keep acting very long, I''m ready to do a few things now and fade away and get ready to be a grandma one day."

However, speaking at a press conference on Nov 17 (08), to promote her new movie ‘Changeling’, the actress admitted that she still has acting ambitions.

"I''m not making some retirement announcement. I have a big family and a lot of responsibility at home, and I have the good fortune to financially not have to work all the time,” Contactmusic quoted Jolie, as saying.

"I just feel privileged that I get to be home a lot. Maybe eventually I''ll stop (acting)," she added. (ANI)

Rowling fan who lost legal battle over Harry Potter Lexicon files appeal

A Harry Potter fan, who lost legal proceedings regarding the publication of an unauthorised guide to the boy wizard’s famous franchise, has filed a court appeal.

Rowling and executives at Warner Bros, who own intellectual property rights to Potter books and films, won legal proceedings against writer Steve Vander Ark and publisher RDR Books in September.

Thus far, Rowling has been able to stall the publication of the 400-page text after she got to known about plans to release The Harry Potter Lexicon.

A report in Publisher’s Weekly magazine suggests that legal team representing RDR filed an appeal to the US. Court of Appeals on November 7.

According to Contactmusic, the writers have offered to revise the book and remove any offending or copyrighted passages, but Rowling has turned down the offer. (ANI)
