‘Speed 2: Cruise Control’ voted as ‘Worst Ever Sequel’

‘Speed 2: Cruise Control’ has been voted the Worst Ever Sequel in a new poll.

In a poll by cinema booking site Screenrush.co.uk, ‘Speed 2’ has been named as the poorest follow-up with 58 per cent votes.

The second spot went to ‘Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls’, with 16 per cent votes.

The third spot and the fourth spot went to ‘Alien vs Predator: Requiem’ with 13 per cent votes and ‘Batman and Robin’ with 10 per cent votes respectively.

"Bad sequels often steal the limelight and tarnish the original film, being seen with a fair degree of cynicism as trying to cash in on a popular movie franchise," Contactmusic quoted Tom Swallow, spokesperson for Screenrush.co.uk, as saying.

The top five worst sequels are:

1. Speed 2: Cruise Control - 58 per cent

2. Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls - 16 per cent

3. Alien vs Predator: Requiem - 13 per cent

4. Batman and Robin - 10 per cent

5. Teen Wolf Too - 3 per cent (ANI)

‘Batman Begins’ voted ‘Best Prequel Of All Time’

‘Batman Begins’ has been named as the Best Prequel Ever in the new poll.

In a poll by cinema booking site Screenrush.co.uk, Christopher Nolan''s 2005 hit has been coroneted as the best prequel of all time with 48 pct votes.

‘Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom’ followed Batman begins with 27 pct votes while Daniel Craig''s ‘Casino Royale’ grabbed 13 per cent votes.

"Our survey found that prequels in general often exceed expectations and are even more loved then the movies they''re meant to precede,” Contactmusic quoted Tom Swallow, spokesperson for Screenrush.co.uk, as saying.

"Looking at our list, the winning film, Batman Begins, and indeed Casino Royale, are technically re-imaginings or ''reboots'' of the series, created to refresh the story line using the same characters, but with a new look and style," he added.

The top five best prequels are:

1. Batman Begins - 48 per cent

2. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom-27 percent

3. Casino Royale - 13 per cent

4. Red Dragon - 8 per cent

5. Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith - 4 per cent (ANI)

Timbaland ropes in Madonna, Rihanna for ‘Shock Value’ sequel

After last year’s superhit album ‘Shock Value’ Timbaland is planning an ultimate sequel, roping in artists like legendry Madonna and hottie Rihanna for it.

The 37-year-old producer plans to record songs with hitmaker Beyonce, Jonas Brothers, Jordin Sparks and many others as well.

"Right now, I have a song with Madonna that I didn''t put on her album. I saved it in case I wanna do one for me," Who Magazine quoted Timbaland, as telling MTV News.

"Of course I''mma do one with Beyonce. Of course I''mma do one with Jordin Sparks, Rihanna, it''s a lot of people, I''mma do one with Jonas Brothers, I''mma try to have 10 major ones," the successful producer said.

Along with the Divas, Timbaland also plans to incorporate rappers like T. Pain, Jay-Z to add variety to the sequel.

"Jay was really on the last one, but he wanted to change the song,” Timbaland said. (ANI)

Russell Brand roped in to host MTV Awards

Funnyman Russell Brand has been roped in to host this year’s MTV awards.

The wild-haired comic star will be pocketing millions of dollars by becoming the first Brit ever to present the prestigious American show in September.

And that’s not all, apart form his MTV feat, he has also landed a role in the sequel to his breakthrough US movie ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ and a second Adam Sandler film after finishing filming of ‘Bedtime Stories’ with the comic.

"The MTV gig is a huge deal for Russell. He will be beamed into living rooms right across America - everyone will know who he is by the end of the night,” The Mirror quoted a source, as saying.

The source added: "It''s going to be tough but he has handled live awards shows before. And his stand-up gigs in America have gone down a storm so he should get some encouragement in that."

While the Americans are seemingly hard to please, Brand, who hosted The Brits in 2007, may have the crowds rolling in the aisles with his one-liners. (ANI)

Pamela Anderson has become the latest celebrity to support Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama in the 2008 elections.

The former ‘Baywatch’ star joined the Obama bandwagon after posing in front of his giant portrait at her Los Angeles home.

"I love him. I think he''''s going to win. I like that he''''s opening up conversations all over the world. I think he''''s smart and charismatic," The Sun quoted her, as telling Usmagazine.com.

Anderson’s seductive pose shows off not only her tattoo, but the scars on her left arm she sustained after being attacked by leeches.

Scarlett Johansson, Robert De Niro And George Clooney are among other Obama fans. (ANI)
