Doherty realised his ‘messy state’ after almost killing his cat

He decided that his drug abusing had gone far enough, after he attempted to batter to death one of his kittens with a spade, making him seek help from Wormwood Scrubs, from where he earned his drug-free certificate.

“I got a shovel and was going to kill one of the cats. That was when I was, like, you know, ‘I’m a bit of a mess’. It was a bit of a crazy time,” The Sun quoted him as saying.

Doherty had walked away free from the West London lock-up last week after serving just 29 days of a 14-week sentence for failing to turn up for drug tests.

Upon being released from the institution, he began planning a belated birthday party for himself, to celebrate turning 29-years-old.

“I can’t remember the last one at all. And now I’m clean I want one that I can remember,” he said.

“I would like it to be fancy dress and everything. A real party,” he added.

He also confirmed that the green light has been given for Babyshambles’ follow-up to Shotters Nation.

“That will keep me busy and, hopefully, out of trouble,” he said. (ANI)
