It was a chat-up line that sparked off David and Victoria Beckham’s relationship, which went on to become the most iconic partnerships in celebrity history.

After watching Manchester United play Sheffield Wednesday at Old Trafford in March 1997, a determined Victoria Adams had waved goodbye to a shy Beckham with a chat-up line laden with Girl Power, and that was what led to couple’s rock-solid union that extends to this date.

"If you don''t ring me, I''m going to kick you in the b******s the next time I see you,” British tabloid The Sun quoted Posh as having said at the time.

It is believed that Pop guru Simon Fuller, the creator of The Spice Girls, engineered the couple’s meeting after he saw great potential in Victoria.

So, tickets to Manchester United games were hastily arranged, and it wasn''t long before Britain''s most up-and-coming footballer set his eyes on the woman who would soon become his wife.

But despite the encounter''s engineered beginnings, there was a genuine chemistry between the two young celebrities.

While the well brought up Victoria was impressed by David’s politeness, the footballer was equally charmed by Victoria''s forthright message to call her.

And, since then, the pair have been together, and are still hailed as the most stylish and loving couple of the last decade.

Posh and Beckham are celebrating their tenth anniversary today, and are currently holidaying in Seychelles. (ANI)
