Cheating Brit spouses spend £650mln a year on illicit affairs
Men and women involved in extra marital affairs are spending on an average 5,140 pounds a year on their affair, four times higher than their household expenses.
Most of the cash is dished out on hotels, transport, kinky undies, dinners, booze, membership fees to websites that pair up love cheats, and flowers.
The average amount spent on each illicit affair has risen to 296 pounds from 247 pounds in 2007.
The cost is more than eight times as much as the 35 pounds spent by faithful partners on a date.
“The drive to have sex is one of the most primal urges we have. If it can override your concerns about being unfaithful to your partner, of course it can override your concerns about money,” News of the World quoted relationship expert Dr. Pam Spurr as saying.
"Plus, people have more sex during times of national stress because it''s a great source of pleasure and a stress reliever," she added.
According to IllicitEncounters.com, 220,000 people have already signed up with 35 per cent of spouses between 20 and 60, and 200 new people join every day. (ANI)
