Diddy brings 50’s ‘Rat Pack’ back to life in Sinatra’s home

Rapper P. Diddy, aka Sean Combs, has brought back the ‘Rat Pack’ magic, though with a modern day twist.

While shooting for the new ad campaign for Ciroc vodka, the designer is said to have recreated the 50’s and 60’s aura, but with a modern interpretation for the new generation.

The advertisement, which stars Diddy as sporting his individualistic style in a sharp suit and a bow tie, was shot exclusively at the renowned Frank Sinatra’s former home itself.

The rapper plays a host at a private dinner party while sipping a glass of his favourite vodka.

The 38-year-old performer admitted idolising Sinatra for his ‘sophisticated celebration’, and thought it an honour to try touching the legacy of the iconic band member.

“Frank Sinatra is one of my heroes. It was truly an honor to have had the opportunity to use Sinatra’s work and home for this campaign,” the Sun quoted him as saying.

"He defined sophisticated celebration as a lifestyle a generation ago," he added.

Despite having a reputation for womanising and heavy drinking, ‘Rat Pack’ were a group of entertainers that had a tremendous influence on American culture, music, and style.

The legendary group included Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop. (ANI)

Natalie Bassingthwaighte wants to be the new Kylie Minogue

Singer Natalie Bassingthwaighte, 33, is set to follow in the footsteps of Kylie Minogue to be the next Australian pop princess.

She wowed the crowds at the new season opening of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert after-party, where she tried to act like Minogue in a performance of her debut solo single Alive.

During an interview for Confidential magazine, Bassingthwaighte revealed that she drew inspiration for her new music career by travelling around the world.

After parting ways with her band the Rogue Traders in June, Bassingthwaighte said, she struggled with shouldering the interview load without her band mates.

She said that she "missed (Rogue songwriter) James (Ash''s) energy during interviews and realised how much we used to bounce off one another".

Bassingthwaighte wants to perform at next year''s Mardi Gras carnival.

"That would be a dream," News.com.au quoted her, as saying. (ANI)

‘The Man With The Golden Gun’ gun goes missing

The iconic firearm used in 1974 James Bond movie ‘The Man With The Golden Gun’ is missing from a British film studio, according to reports.

The weapon, valued at an estimated 148,000 dollars, is believed to have been stolen from a cabin owned by Elstree Props, reports Contactmusic.

The golden gun was used by Bond villain Francisco Scaramanga, played by Christopher Lee, in the hit movie.

When former 007 star Sir Roger Moore was told of the missing prop, he quipped, "You''d better ask Christopher Lee about this. Search his house!" (ANI)

George Michael axed from Brit Awards 2009?

George Michael has reportedly been axed from next year''s Brit Awards following his recent drug scandal.

The singer was allegedly nominated for the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award at the prestigious U.K. ceremony.

However, Brit Award bosses are rumoured to be looking for another nominee, after Michael was arrested by police in the Hampstead Heath area of north London in September (08).

He was found to be in possession of class A and class C drugs - cocaine and marijuana - and was released with a caution.

"George was frontrunner to get the lifetime achievement award. But Brits bosses felt it would be better not to be associated with him for the time being since the Brits is a shop window for our music," Contactmusic quoted a source, as telling News of the World. (ANI)

Jolie teaching six-year-old son Maddox all about knives

While mothers try to keep their kids away from harmful weapons, Angelina Jolie seems to be an exception, for she has admitted taking her six-year-old adopted son Maddox shopping for knives.

The ‘Tomb Raider’ star, who has a past of self-harming with knives, said that idea behind buying the weapon for the Cambodian-born infant was to teach him about the benefits and dangers of carrying a blade.

“We take him to a special shop. We also talk about samurais and the idea about defending someone as good. We talk about everything,” Metro.co.uk quoted her, as saying.

The actress also revealed that knife-buying ran in her family.

Her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, had taken her shopping for a knife when she was just 11. (ANI)

Gwen Stefani’s post-partum bulges make her ‘feel like a giant house’

Gwen Stefani, who delivered her second baby Zuma Nesta Rock in August, has been allegedly suffering from post-pregnancy weight woes that make her “feel like a giant house”.

The singer, who shot to fame with rock band ‘No Doubt’, is said to be going ballistic over shedding her extra fat, and has even hired a personal trainer to help her.

The 38-year-old mum is reportedly having much difficulty dropping her post-pregnancy bulges than she did earlier with her first child, the China Daily reports.

“Gwen feels like a giant house at the moment,” a source close to her said.

“She found this pregnancy hard and the weight just piled on.

“She hoped to shed 40 to 50lbs within three months and even lined up a personal trainer.

"But she is still suffering from sleepless nights and caring for Kingston as well as Zuma is really draining, so she has little energy left for high intensity workouts," the source added.

The musician is also purportedly coming to terms with the fact that despite her frantic efforts to control her cravings, progressing age has made it harder for her to lose weight

The source said: "Gwen''s appetite is running wild. She can''t resist fries and sandwiches and has cravings for red meat. She is learning that at her age, losing weight is not nearly as easy as it used to be." (ANI)

Jennifer Aniston, who called it quits with singer John Mayer in August, is happy being single, her friends revealed.

The ‘Along Came Polly’ star has been featured regularly in the entertainment news for her recently speculated link with actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Gerard Butler.

However, despite her string of failed relationships, including her marriage with Brad Pitt, the former ''Friends'' actress is said to be hanging in strong.

Her friends insist that she is actually happier alone, the China Daily reports.

"Jennifer is not just looking amazing, she''s feeling amazing,” a source said.

“She''s very content right now. She would much rather be on her own than trapped in a miserable relationship with someone who is wrong for her.

“Her motto regarding her love life is, ''What will be, will be'' and while she believes in true, everlasting love, she''s not accepting second best,” the source added.

The 39-year-old is also said to be quite optimistic about entering her 40’s next year, and sees it as a totally different milestone in her life.

Her pal added: "Rather than dreading it, she sees it as a thing to celebrate and be proud of, not scared about. "

John Lennon''s ''sadistic'' and perverse side revealed in new tell-all

Late ''Beatle'' star John Lennon was a sadistic man who abused the women in his life regularly, according to a tell-all book.

The tome, entitled ''John Lennon: The Life'', has been written by Beatles biographer Philip Norman.

It reveals the unprovoked acts of cruelty, jealous rage and perverse sexual fantasies of Lennon.

The book, which Yoko Ono had contributed hugely to, painted Lennon in such an ugly way that even she felt it was "too mean".

It also reveals his callous treatment of Yoko, the physical and verbal abuse of his two sons, and his chronic infidelities.

The story written by Norman reveals how Cynthia, Lennon''s first wife, came to know he was having an affair with Ono, when she walked in, after she came back from a vacation in Greece, on the two of them sitting on the floor together, wearing matching bathrobes.

"John showed no sign of guilt or even surprise, merely looking round with a casual, ''Oh . . . hi''," the New York Post quoted Norman has having written.

Lennon was very possessive about Ono, and when they first started dating, he forced her to write down a list of men she had slept with, so that he could treat each of them like a "mortal enemy".

He even insisted that Ono accompanied him to studio sessions, a thing the other band members had agreed never to do. He even made her follow him to the men''s bathroom.

"People said I followed him to the men''s room, but he made me go with him," Ono had told Norman.

"He thought that if he left me alone with the other Beatles even for a minute, I might go off with one of them," she had revealed.

Ono further revealed that Lennon told her he regretted never bedding his mother, Julia, who had been killed by a speeding off-duty cop''s car when John was 17.

Besides his lewd comments and sadistic behaviour, the singer also cheated on her in her presence on the night of Nixon''s re-election.

"She didn''t come on to him at all, he just pulled her and went into the next room. And then they were groping and all that, and we were all quiet," Ono recalled.

"Then one of the other guests was very kind and put a record on, Bob Dylan or something, so that we don''t hear it. But we heard it anyway. And everyone had their coats in the next room, where John and this girl are making out so nobody can go home," she stated.

Even his children were at the receiving end of his viciousness and abusive.

One friend recalls Lennon yelling, "No, I''m not going to mend your f---ing bicycle," to his young son. (ANI)

Jolie buys $65,000 horsehair mattress to give her a sound sleep

Angelina Jolie has spent a whopping 65,000 dollars on a horsehair mattress in a bid to help her sleep.

After reportedly struggling to sleep since her twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline were born in July, the ''Changeling'' actress finally decided to invest in the expensive handmade bedding.

According to a source, Jolie is hoping to get good sleep with her brand new mattress, reports China Daily.

"Angelina is hoping she can rest better now she has bought a brand new horsehair mattress,” a source said.

“The incredible Vividus bed was made entirely by hand in Sweden. It took roughly 150 hours to make and cost a whopping 65,000 pounds," she added. (ANI)

Giant Jaws voted ''Biggest James Bond Baddie Of All Time''

Metal-toothed giant Jaws has been named the ''Biggest James Bond Baddie Of All Time''.

Jaws, played by Richard Kiel, was the first henchman to star in two 007 films - ''The Spy Who Loved Me'' and ''Moonraker''.

Bowler-hatted bruiser Oddjob from 1964''s ''Goldfinger'' landed the second spot while Ernst Blofeld, the leader of criminal organisation Spectre, came third.

Francisco Scaramanga from 1974''s ''The Man With Golden Gun'' stood fourth in the poll of 2,000 film fans on behalf of the Daily Star Sunday and watch giants Swatch.

Rounding off the top five was Rosa Klebb from 1963''s ''From Russia With Love''.

"The seemingly unstoppable Jaws was a clear winner with fans," the Daily Star quoted a spokesman for Swatch, as saying.

"Even though it''s nearly 20 years since he was last seen in Moonraker he is still seen as the biggest Bond baddie of them all," he added.
