NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stocks rose at the market open on Friday, after
comments by Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke bolstered belief in the market
that another interest-rate cut is on the horizon.
The Dow Jones industrial average was up 110.39 points, or 0.83 percent, at
13,422.12. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 12.54 points, or 0.85 percent,
at 1,482.26. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 25.44 points, or 0.95 percent, at
2,693.57.
