RBI says still examining holding co feedback

MUMBAI (Reuters) - The Reserve bank of India said on Friday it was examining
responses on proposed guidelines for bank holding companies and would come out
with another draft for further comment.
The RBI put a discussion paper on its Web site on Aug. 27, inviting feedback
from bankers on the likely structure of holding companies for banks.
In the first draft, the central bank expressed concern about aspects of holding
company structures and said the pace of growth in financial services had led
banks to experiment with holding company structures not yet familiar in India.
