Indian shares choppy in early trade

MUMBAI (Reuters) - Indian shares opened 0.55 percent higher on Monday and briefly slipped into the negative before recovering, led by gains in telecoms and software services exporters.

At 9:59 a.m., the 30-share BSE index was up 0.21 percent or 42.66 points at 20,008.66, with 16 of the components gaining.

The 50-issue NSE index was up 0.02 percent at 5,975.50.
